*520  $aThe headline for the 22nd Triennial conference of EAPR in Oslo 7-12 July 2024 was: Sustainable Potato production: advances and applications of Potato Research. Potato is still the third most important food crop in the world in terms of human consumption. There are several constrains for the potato growers. Some challenges are worldwide like threats from pests and diseases, causing need for more pesticide treatments than most other crops. Climate changes with higher temperatures and more unpredictable rainfalls are making the potato production more vulnerable during the entire growing season including the harvest season. Obviously, these and other challenges give the pressure for breeders to release more robust cultivars and the need for new technology. All these and other challenges covering a broad spectre of subjects related to the potato crop were covered in the nine scientific sessions of the conference by 12 keynotes, 84 oral presentations and 93 posters. At the end of the conference, how to bring the new knowledge from the scientific community to practice was discussed. The conference had 280 participants from 35 nations from Europe and beyond.
