The conventional perception of science in Western societies has been modified in recent years by the work of philosophers, sociologists and historians of science. In this book Bruno Latour brings together these different approaches to provide a lively and challenging analysis of science, demonstrating how social context and technical content are both essential to a proper understanding of scientific activity. Emphasizing that science can only be understood through its practice, the author examines science and technology in action: the role of scientific literature, the activities of laboratories, the institutional context of science in the modern world, and the means by which inventions and discoveries become accepted. From the study of scientific practice he develops an analysis of science as the building of networks. Throughout, Bruno Latour shows how a lively and realistic picture of science in action alters our conception of not only the natural sciences but also the social sciences and the sociology of knowledge in general. This stimulating book, drawing on a wealth of examples from a wide range of scientific activities, will interest all philosophers, sociologists and historians of science, scientists and engineers, and students of the philosophy of social science and the sociology of knowledge. *650 2$aScience$xHistory$_15220600 *650 2$aTechnology$_10596600 *650 4$aTeknikk og samfunn$_15289600 *650 7$aForskere$0(NO-TrBIB)REAL013266$2noubomn$_193205200 *650 7$aForskning$0(NO-TrBIB)REAL006010$2noubomn$_185509200 *650 7$aHistorisk framstilling$0(NO-TrBIB)REAL32333$2noubomn$_205142600 *650 7$aTeknologi$0(NO-TrBIB)REAL013505$2noubomn$_185524400 *650 7$aTeknologisk sosiologi$0(NO-TrBIB)khib05670$2khib$_191852600 *650 7$aVitenskapsfilosofi$0(NO-TrBIB)REAL013516$2noubomn$_185706500 *650 7$aVitenskapsfilosofi$2tekord$_185711800 *650 7$aVitenskapshistorie$0(NO-TrBIB)REAL013517$2noubomn$_192261900 *650 7$aVitenskapssosiologi$0(NO-TrBIB)REAL013518$2noubomn$_193109700 *653 0$anaturvitenskap$ateknologi$asamfunn$avitenskapelig$apersonale$avitenskapssosiologi$aforskning$avitenskap$avitenskapsfilosofi$ahistorie$avitenskapshistorie$_115052400 *85642$3Forlagets beskrivelse (kort)$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/?isbn=9780674792913 *85642$3Forlagets beskrivelse (lang)$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/?isbn=9780674792913 *85642$3Innholdsfortegnelse$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/?isbn=9780674792913 *85642$3Miniatyrbilde$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/files/images/small/3/1/9780674792913.jpg$qimage/jpeg *85642$3Omslagsbilde$uhttp://www.hup.harvard.edu/images/jackets/9780674792913.jpg *85642$3Omslagsbilde$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/files/images/large/3/1/9780674792913.jpg$qimage/jpeg *901 $a80 *999 $aoai:nb.bibsys.no:999920158998102202$b2021-11-14T20:57:46Z$z999920158998102202 ^
