The experiments have been conducted both on a laboratory scale and in larger piles outdoors Experiment 1: The results showed that yellow PCN cysts composted in thermos along with sludge and potato waste loses the ability to infect almond potato plants if they are exposed above 5o°C for 3- 5 days. Experiment 2: No living larvae and eggs from the cysts were found in the material by microscope analysis after composting in a large pile for 26 days. Temperatures were measured from 60 - 69°C at 0.5 m, 1.0 m, and 1.5 m depth in the pile. Experiment 3: No living fertile larvae were found in the material composted with temperatures above 27 days >55°C, >60 °C (21 days) and 65°C (10 days). The cysts became exposure to root extract from the potato to start hatching. Control cysts showed a different number of scratched larvae. All analyses based on different mix samples from 16 compost batches produced between 2020 and 2021 have been analysed for PCN cysts and showed negative responses. This ensures that the compost is safe for further use. *653 6$areport$_128546700 *7001 $aVennatrø, Marit Skuterud$4aut$_223543900 *7001 $aØdegaard, Elling$4aut$_226445000 *7102 $aMaarud Disenå$4cli$_226445100 *7102 $aNIBIO$4ctr$_184209200 *85640$uhttps://urn.nb.no/URN:NBN:no-nb_pliktmonografi_000017418$3Fulltekst$yNettbiblioteket$zDigital representasjon *913 $aNorbok$bNB *999 $aoai:nb.bibsys.no:999920391599802202$b2023-04-02T02:05:05Z$z999920391599802202 ^
